Saw "The Maltese Falcon" on TCM a couple of weeks ago.
What a great movie. I have seen the movie many times,
but for the first time, I finally understood what the
movie was about.
The other night, I was keeping my mother company and
"The Maltese Falcon" was on TV again. I explained my
revelation to her. As we watched, it was a lot like
watching "The Sixth Sense" a second time, we were
watching a different movie. Everything on film was
exactly the same, but not only did we see new things,
but the old things had new meaning. What a great movie.
If a little understanding can create that kind of change
in our perception of a two hour movie, makes you wonder
what new understanding and perspective can do for our
dancing and our life.
